The federal government has announced that Australia has now vaccinated 5 million people. So far 57 per cent of over 70s and 39 per cent of over 50s have now had at least one vaccination.

Though some people remain hesitant to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine health advice is not to wait for Pfizer as being diagnosed with COVID-19 can be deadly.

Also, some Victorian age care residents have been taken to hospital after testing positive even though they have been vaccinated. That is in order to isolate them, continue their care and make medial observations as they are infectious.

Vaccine effectiveness matters and the medical advice is that two doses of vaccine are critical for protection that will prevent severe disease, hospital admission, a period of critical care admission and possibly death.

So don’t hesitate but vaccinate and call your GP to organise your vaccination as soon as possible.
